Today we are going to show you how to use the pucker and bloat effect to draw a 3D flower in Illustrator. We have used illustrator10 to design the flower. By understanding this effect tool you could create various flower in 3D format easily. Click on the image to see larger view. Enjoy!
Open a new document in illustrator
Select polygon tool from the hidden tool of rectangle tool (M)
Make a shape like the image
Take any dark color as foreground color. I take 6B1237 as foreground color.
Select the shape. Then double click to the scale tool(S) >type 50% in scale box> press copy. So you will get another copy of the first shape.
Take any light color for the second shape. I take F5CFA8 for the second shape.
Select both shapes. Make sure stroke color of both shapes is none. Then select blend tool (W).
Click on any one of the anchor points of the first shape. Then click one of the anchor points of the second shape nearby of the first anchor point.
Now make another shape smaller than the first one, following by 2-5 steps. But this time reverse the colors.
Blend the colors by following 7-8 steps.
Now place it center of the first shape.
Select the first shape
Go to Effect > distort and transform > pucker and bloat
Type -100, and then press ok.
Now you will get the final result. By following and experimenting these steps you could make different vector flowers within a minute!
Thank You! 🙂

File extension is generally three letters or digit at the end of a file name after a dot [.] mark which separates the filename form the extension. These letters or digits indicate the computer what format the file has been saved in or what type of file it is.
The filename extension was originally used to easily determine the file’s type. There are as many different file formats as there are different programs to process the files. While it may not be possible to remember all of them but it is helpful to remember some of the common extensions. Here we will discuss about the very basic/common file extension used by designers such as .jpg, .gif, .html, and others.
