Easiest way to create 3D flower in Illustrator (for beginner)

Today we are going to show you how to use the pucker and bloat effect to draw a 3D flower in Illustrator. We have used illustrator10 to design the flower. By understanding this effect tool you could create various flower in 3D format easily. Click on the image to see larger view. Enjoy!

Step 1
Open a new document in illustrator

Step 2
Select polygon tool from the hidden tool of rectangle tool (M)

Step 3
Make a shape like the image

Step 4
Take any dark color as foreground color. I take 6B1237 as foreground color.

Step 5
Select the shape. Then double click to the scale tool(S) >type 50% in scale box> press copy. So you will get another copy of the first shape.

Step 6
Take any light color for the second shape. I take F5CFA8 for the second shape.

Step 7
Select both shapes. Make sure stroke color of both shapes is none. Then select blend tool (W).

Step 8
Click on any one of the anchor points of the first shape. Then click one of the anchor points of the second shape nearby of the first anchor point.

Step 9
Now make another shape smaller than the first one, following by 2-5 steps. But this time reverse the colors.

Step 10
Blend the colors by following 7-8 steps.

Step 11
Now place it center of the first shape.

Step 12
Select the first shape

Step 13
Go to Effect > distort and transform > pucker and bloat

Step 14
Type -100, and then press ok.

Step 15
Now you will get the final result. By following and experimenting these steps you could make different vector flowers within a minute!

Thank You! 🙂
